Thirty-year old. Former teacher with a PhD. I love listening to vinyl and drinking craft beer with my husband. When he is away, I am usually curled up and watching period films (likely inspired by Jane Austen) or shopping the clearance racks of Banana Republic.
In May 2014, I married Eric, a man who can’t sit still. In January 2016, we had Ezra, who also can’t be still. His first word was “Go.” We are expecting a daughter in April 2017. We also have a 90-pound German Shepherd named Captain, who despises the indoors. We are a family of active people who love to be outside. In January 2017, we moved to Hawaii. The sunshine has been good for our souls.
Since becoming a mother, I have come to desire little things in life: a hot meal, a cold beer, a clean shirt, an hour to myself, and waking up on my own. The last one hasn’t happened yet, but I’m hoping it will someday. I’m in a state of transition and I’m thrilled about the possibilities that could be written in the next chapter of my life’s story.
My work has been featured in Huffington Post, Runner’s World, Sammiches & Psych Meds, Sweatpants & Coffee, Her View From Home, The Good Mother Project, and Pregnant Chicken. In addition to the guest posts, I am also working on my first novel.
